The World's Kitchen's Colombian Director Alexander Echeverri Ochoa strives to support and challenge children and parents by improving their nutrition and promoting better family structure. We, at TWK, care for the physical and mental health of everybody who participates and attends a TWK Kitchen.

Our goals are to help every child in our communities feel effectively supported. We believe good nutrition is the building foundation for love and a stronger community. The staff are committed, and are aware of the deep importance, in educating regularly entire families regarding healthy life practises and the value of community involvement.

The World's Kitchen is currently trying to complete the renovation and expansion of our kitchens. Our immediate goals include the construction of a covered roof and a concrete floor. It is necessary to expand the space to better serve and mentor those who pass through our doors.

To meet the needs of the youth, living in the communities most vulnerable to poverty and lack of a balanced diet, we have opened our new headquarters to help not only in municipalities of Antioquia Colombia but also in all Latin America and United States.

THE WORLD'S KITCHEN HELPS POOR FAMILIES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CHOCÓ (COLOMBIA'S BLACK COMMUNITIES)

Colombia has many regions where people lack even the basics of bare necessities. One such neighborhood is located in the remote parts of Chocó. One of the major contributing factor to the poverty in Choco has been the availabily of good access roads. Corruption and lawlessness also contributes to the area's poverty.This extreme poverty contributes to the malnutrition of so many innocent children. For this reason, The World's Kitchen has made a contribution of new cookware that will equip one of the kitchens located in the poverty stricken municipality of Santa Rita de Iro.

The World's Kitchen sends a heartfelt thank you to Doctor Diego Hernandez, who has generously supported TWK's mission and our friends Pilar Marin and Father Luis Fernando who both have given time and energy to TWK Colombia. Our lives and the lives of the children we serve are enriched by all three of these very special giving people.
